I do not believe it is another hype. The information overload problem is here to stay and is growing in importance. More and more people are not only stressed out but are also required to do more complex tasks than they used to. Simple tasks are being outsources. This is going to be a big social problem. We need to find ways to help people with this problem using not only new technology but also new methods and concept of working. Who has any ideas on this?

Visualization of information in let’s say mindmaps, flowcharts and infographics helps people to understand and see relations between types of information. Information does not always have to be linear formatted. As an example, hierarchy in information is important to see and decide if something is important. In a mindmap one has a clear distinction between parts of the information by the use of color, font, borders and images etc. It is also possible to make a hierarchy and relations.

In my opinion knowledge workers need to decide which form suits to communicate information and knowledge at hand every single time… What do you think?
